Vikings Release A Pair Of Linebackers On Wednesday

Vikings Territory

According to a Wednesday press release distributed by the Minnesota Vikings, the team has decided to clear some space from their linebacker depth chart in advance of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The team announced the release of second-year linebackers Alex Singleton and Terrance Plummer. Singleton played college ball for Montana State and Plummer was out of Central Florida.

Much discussion has taken place lately about whether or not the Vikings might be interested in investing an early draft pick in the linebacker position later this month.

The team added Emmanuel Lamur and Travis Lewis during the initial free agency period, while they also retained Audie Cole and Chad Greenway.

Here at Vikings Territory we have discussed Jaylon Smith and Darron Lee as potential early-round investments the Vikings could target.

Reggie Ragland, Darron Lee, and De’Vondre Campbell are linebackers thought to have attended Minnesota’s “Top 30” event in early April.

We have accumulated a high number of scouting reports for potential Vikings targets (compiled on this page), but here are some quick links to each linebacker prospects we’ve looked at closely thus far:
