This year’s NFL offseason is shaping up to be one of the most memorable in recent history. Not only have CBA talks advanced, the Combine shed light on an incredibly deep wide receiver class and an unprecedented group of quarterbacks including Dak Prescott, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers and Teddy Bridgewater is set to hit free agency. It’s an offseason that has the potential to change the landscape of the NFL.

Between the NFL Combine (February 24th-March 2nd) and the 2020 NFL Draft (April 23rd-25th) comes an important step in every team’s offseason process; the re-signing of internal personnel.Last year the Vikings created headlines during the free agency period by extending wide receiver Adam Thielen. There was also the story of Anthony Barr reneging on his verbal agreement with the New York Jets and returning to Minnesota.

The Vikings on Friday made a couple of roster transactions in preparation of Saturday’s divisional playoff game against San Francisco. The team also ruled out a member of the defensive backfield.

Both of the Vikings’ starting wide receivers are dealing with ailments that could potentially put their availability for Saturday’s playoff game into question.

Tuesdays are typically off-days in the NFL. But with the team playing on Saturday, practices have been moved up a day. Following the first walkthrough of the week, the team released its first divisional round injury report.

The Minnesota Vikings will be without their top nickelback for the divisional round of the playoffs. Mackensie Alexander, who also missed the team’s Wild Card game against the New Orleans Saints, will undergo an operation that will likely sideline him for a couple of weeks.
