- McGlinchey is considered one of the best prospects in the draft.
- He’s a very fluid athlete for his size.
- Experienced member of a productive Notre Dame offensive line unit.
- Has experience starting at both left and right tackle.
- Named a Fighting Irish team captain for consecutive seasons.
- Like Quenton Nelson, McGlinchey played in Notre Dame’s pro-style offense that’s similar to the one Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFilippo will run, making the transition to the NFL easier.
- Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 1 tackle prospect in the draft.
- PFF also graded McGlinchey as the No. 1 draft-eligible tackle in the run game.

- According to his NFL.com draft profile, his strength and mass are below average.
- “Due to concerns with power, his ability to handle bull rushers at the point of attack will define the type of career he has.” – NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein.
- McGlinchey’s pass blocking efficiency is not as strong as other prospects in this draft class.
- His game tape reveals inconsistent performance.
- At age 24 he’s on the older end of the prospect spectrum. May have limited upside.
