It’s easy to forget how busy the 2018 offseason was for the Minnesota Vikings. In a span of just a few months the team hired a new offensive coordinator, signed a franchise quarterback in free agency, moved into a new headquarters, tragically lost a beloved position coach and also handed out some hefty contract extensions to deserving veterans. Maybe that’s why this offseason seemed a little “quiet” to the average fan.
In only four days the Vikings roster will be cut down from 88 players to 53. By 3pm (CST) on Saturday the regular season squad, along with a 10-man practice squad, will be assembled. The team began trimming the fat on Tuesday, releasing cornerback Bene Benwikere and wide receiver Jordan Taylor.
