Vikings Roster Cuts Tracker: Road to 53
It’s easy to forget how busy the 2018 offseason was for the Minnesota Vikings. In a span of just a few months the team hired a new offensive coordinator, signed a franchise quarterback in free agency, moved into a new headquarters, tragically lost a beloved position coach and also handed out some hefty contract extensions to deserving veterans. Maybe that’s why this offseason seemed a little “quiet” to the average fan.
There weren’t as many headlines this time around but plenty of storylines developed throughout the summer, mainly focused on which players will make the team. With the final preseason game now in the books, it’s finally time to set the regular season roster.
Quality players and ample competition are present on both sides of the ball, presenting the coaches and front office staff with a number of difficult decisions. While the team started bringing some clarity to the situation on Monday by releasing two players, now is when the heavy lifting will take place.
The heaviest allocation of players onto the regular season roster as well as the 10-man practice squad begins on Friday. On this page we’ll track every player cut by the team as well as the players chosen for the final 53. Please note things may change as the waiver system processes throughout the weekend. This page will continue to update as news breaks.
