Most football fans spend their time cheering for “skill players” on their respective teams. With guys like Diggs, Thielen, and Cook, the Minnesota Vikings have their fair share of these athletes. However, there is one player not at a skill position who has quietly been the team’s best recent acquisition. That player is offensive lineman Josh Kline.

The Minnesota Vikings announced this morning that linebacker Ben Gedeon (concussion) and guard Josh Kline (foot) will be out for their game this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

News emerged from TCO Performance Center today that added fuel to the fire of rampant and baseless trade speculation. Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs missed Wednesday’s practice with a non-injury designation. Diggs was one of two non-participants on the team’s first injury report of the week.

The Vikings will face one of the NFL’s fiercest defensive fronts on Sunday and they’ll do so without a starting member of their offensive line. Right guard Josh Kline will miss the Week 4 contest as he recovers from a concussion that he suffered during the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Raiders. He’ll miss his first game in 49 consecutive starts, which was the longest streak among active guards in the league. Dakota Dozier, who filled in at left guard for Pat Elflein in Week 2, will take Kline’s place as the starting right guard.

They waived running back Roc Thomas and added guard Tiano Pupungatoa, then waived safety Micah Abernathy and acquired running back De’Angelo Henderson. Now, a few days into training camp, the team roster sits at an offseason maximum 90 players.
