Minnesota Madness — Round 3: Cousins, Osborn, & Hunter Get Dropped as Competition Heats Up

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports.

The final four has arrived as Minnesota Madness gets into Round 3. Those who are unfamiliar with the initial forays into the voter-picked tournament can take a look at Round 1 and Round 2 (and then the rules more broadly).

Notably, Round 3 sees some wonderful Vikings plays subtracted from the equation. Gone are excellent moments from Kirk Cousins, K.J. Osborn, Danielle Hunter, Harrison Smith, and D.J. Wonnum. No surprise: Justin Jefferson’s Week 16 play is still going strong, but the WR1 will be facing some stiff competition the rest of the way.

Jordan Addison’s play lives on to keep fighting to be named the season’s top play. And then Josh Metellus continues proving that he’s unique since both of his plays are sticking around, as well (with an assist from Mr. Hicks).

Like last week, the matchups are determined based on when the game arrived. The “highest” game — Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, etc. — is getting put against the lowest game — Game 14, Game 15, Game 16, etc. At present, that means the Game 6 scoop and score is going toe-to-toe with the Game 16 Jefferson magnificence. And then the Game 7 Addison theft is duelling with the Game 8 trick on Love.

Readers are once again shoved into a ballot box with a simple instruction: pick whichever play you think is best within these matchups. The polls are included between the video clips. Collectively, the participating readers across PurplePTSD and Vikings Territory will be deciding which plays survive until Round 4, which will begin next Friday.

Take a few moments to watch the videos. Afterwards, jump into the tournament by picking a preferred play in the polls. Round 3 reaches its end on Tuesday, March 5th at 12 p.m.
