Buckle Up—Vikings are Day-1 Players in the 2024 NFL Draft
Vikings Territory Breakdown Podcast
Things are getting down to the wire in the NFL Draft. We are two weeks out from the first day of the next era in Minnesota Vikings football, as they hold two draft picks in the first round of the upcoming draft. And we couldn’t be happier that it’s almost here.
The speculation on who and where the Vikings will pick is reaching a zenith as April 25 nears, and no one not named Kwesi Adolfo-Mensah or Kevin O’Connell is any wiser on what will happen then we were two months ago. The Vikings made an offseason trade to better their chances of making another trade up for a quarterback, but as Kwesi has said, you need another team (or teams) to join in that process. And the latest steam is that there is a possibility the Vikings could get shut out of the trading game like Doyle Lonnegan (a.k.a. as Robert Shaw) in the movie The Sting. (Sorry, old guy reference.)
The good news is that Kwesi and KOC (plus Brian Flores and several players in town for voluntary OTAs) spoke to the media, recently, which was sure to shed some light on the situation . . . or not. But that won’t stop the fellas from the Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast (Joe Oberle, senior writer at vikingsterritory.com and purplePTSD.com and Mark Craig, NFL and Vikings writer for the Star Tribune and startribune.com) from talking about it. No matter how you look at it, the Vikings will be players on day one of the draft.
At the VT Breakdown podcast, we will sift through the tea leaves, wade through a shroud of intentional obfuscation and just plain throw darts at a big board and see if we can predict what will happen. But don’t hold your breath on that. Kwesi is adept as Rick Spielman as blowing smoke and KOC can talk around a subject with the best of them. But neither is a match for our draft divining duo—tune in and check it out.
