Wintry Weather and Winter Meetings—It’s No April Fools
It snowed in Minesota in April, so the NFL folks scrambled south and held their winter meetings this week and the news from those confines came flying out across news and sports feeds across the land. Rules changes were offered, accepted and reject, coaches and GMs from the many teams across the league spoke to the media and the Vikings officials, as is their want most seasons, talked about their prospective quarterback(s) for the coming year.
One of the most persistent Purple queries this offseason is who will start at QB and who will be his backup. And this week did little to squelch the rumors that the door is still open for one former signal caller from the team directly to the east. (I don’t speak his name or might, kind of Beetlejuice, summon it forth to reality.)
The topic of GM Kwesi Adolfo-Mensah’s contract not yet being complete came up and owner Mark Wilf gave him a big vote of confidence, just not a contract yet. Sounds like they might want to see how the draft goes this offseason—and suffice it to say, many of those in Purple nation are interested in that as well.
That all deserves some discussion. Therefore, all these topics and more are fair game this week for the fellas at Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast—Joe Oberle, senior writer at vikingsterritory.com and purplePTSD.com and Mark Craig, NFL and Vikings writer for the Star Tribune and startribune.com. So, tune in and check it out. Skol!
