Week 7 of the NFL season is officially in the books.

The weekend saw the Vikings fall to the Philadelphia Eagles at home, causing them to fall further behind in the NFC playoff race while one of their most hated rivals took over the No. 1 seed in the conference. Here is a look at the updated NFL standings as the dust settles from this past weekend.

AFC East

  1. New England Patriots (5-2)
  2. Buffalo Bills (4-2)
  3. Miami Dolphins (1-6)
  4. New York Jets (0-7)

The Bills could do nothing but watch from their couches as the New England Patri0ts asserted themselves as the sole leader in the AFC East this weekend with another dominant win, beating the Tennessee Titans 31-13. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets continue to dig themselves into a deeper hole with both teams losing once again.

AFC North

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
  2. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)
  3. Cleveland Browns (2-5)
  4. Baltimore Ravens (1-5)

The Cincinnati Bengals are trying to make things interesting in the AFC North after they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football. The Browns also inched their way a bit closer to this race after beating the Miami Dolphins. We’ll see if the Ravens can follow suit this week when they return to the action after this week’s bye.

AFC South

  1. Indianapolis Colts (6-1)
  2. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)
  3. Houston Texans (2-4)
  4. Tennessee Titans (1-6)

The Indianapolis Colts wagon just keeps on rolling over opponents as they found a new victim in the Los Angeles Chargers this week to become the only six-win team in the NFL. Things won’t get too much more difficult over the next few weeks, which is bad news for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans who lost some of their momentum this week.

AFC West

  1. Denver Broncos (5-2)
  2. Los Angeles Chargers (4-3)
  3. Kansas City Chiefs (4-3)
  4. Las Vegas Raiders (2-5)

The Los Angeles Chargers had a path to control this division after beating all three of their division rivals over the first three weeks, but now, that path has almost disappeared after losing three of their last four games with two of those losses being by double digits. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos are red hot with an elite defense, and the Kansas City Chiefs might actually be back after a 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

NFC East

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)
  2. Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1)
  3. Washington Commanders (3-4)
  4. New York Giants (2-5)

The Eagles got back on track by beating the Vikings on Sunday, and they extended their division lead after the Washington Commanders were blown out by the Dallas Cowboys. Making matters worse for Washington, Jayden Daniels was injured again in the game, so we’ll see if he is able to return to the field next Monday against the Chiefs.

NFC North

  1. Green Bay Packers (4-1-1)
  2. Detroit Lions (5-2)
  3. Chicago Bears (4-2)
  4. Minnesota Vikings (3-3)

Everybody in the NFC North is building momentum for a playoff run other than the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings were the only team in the division to lose this week, falling all the way to the bottom of the division all by themselves.

NFC South

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)
  2. Carolina Panthers (4-3)
  3. Atlanta Falcons (3-3)
  4. New Orleans Saints (1-6)

Things are getting interesting in the NFC South after the Buccaneers lost to the Lions on Monday night, and the Carolina Panthers beat the New York Jets in London. However, despite Carolina moving to within a game of Tampa Bay, they did lose Bryce Young to a high ankle sprain, which isn’t great news as they prepare to face the Buffalo Bills next weekend.

NFC West

  1. San Francisco 49ers (5-2)
  2. Los Angeles Rams (5-2)
  3. Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
  4. Arizona Cardinals (2-5)

The NFC West remains deadlocked in a three-way tie after all three of the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks got victories this weekend. However, the 49ers have a chance to temporarily retake sole possession of first place this weekend with the Rams and Seahawks on their byes in Week 8.
