These Are the Vikings’ Opponents in 2025

On May 14th, Minnesota Vikings fans will learn the order — the times and dates — of the team’s 2025 schedule.
These Are the Vikings’ Opponents in 2025
In recent years, the NFL has made a ginormous deal of virtually every aspect of its calendar, and the schedule release is absolutely no different.

And while folks won’t know the schedule’s order for a week and half, they for damn sure can know the opponents.
So, these are the teams the Vikings will face in 2025 — no matter what.
On the Road
- Chicago Bears
- Cleveland Browns
- Dallas Cowboys
- Detroit Lions
- Green Bay Packers
- New York Giants
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Seattle Seahawks
The road docket is highlighted by meetings with the Steelers, Chargers, and Seahawks, for the most part.
Pittsburgh is never an easy road venue, and if the guy ever locks in a decision, the Vikings could face Aaron Rodgers again in 2025 — a year after thinking a showdown in London against his New York Jets last October was the final hurrah.

SI.com‘s Will Ragatz wrote last month about the possibility of Minnesota playing overseas: “There’s a chance the Vikings could wind up playing an international game for the second year in a row during the 2025 NFL season. Three of Minnesota’s road opponents are hosting games overseas this year. The Chargers are opening the season in Brazil, but even with the potential J.J. McCarthy against Jim Harbaugh angle, the possibility of the Vikings playing in that game ‘sounded remote at the owners’ meetings,’ the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling said in the latest Access Vikings newsletter.”
“The Browns are playing in London, but it would seem unlikely that Minnesota goes there for a second consecutive season and third time in four years.”
At Los Angeles will pit quarterback J.J. McCarthy against his old college coach, Jim Harbaugh, and the game will not be easy, as the Chargers’ roster is pretty fancy.
And at the Seahawks, unless it’s late in the season and a rookie like Jalen Milroe has taken over, the Vikings will experience a J.J. McCarthy vs. Sam Darnold showdown, two friends and former teammates.
At Home
- Baltimore Ravens
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Chicago Bears
- Detroit Lions
- Green Bay Packers
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Washington Commanders
- Atlanta Falcons
A murderous docket, the Vikings will play the Ravens, Bengals, and Eagles at home, a trio some cynical fans might immediately call “three losses.”
Of course, Vikings faithful don’t have to think that way anymore, as the depth chart is in dazzling shape.

Still, the home schedule, although studded with entertaining games, is stuffed with formidable opponents. It’s also worth noting that ticket prices might get quite spendy with this opponent slate.
Newcomer Vikings, defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, will face his old team at U.S. Bank Stadium.
He comically said after joining the Vikings in March: “When I came here and see they have kombucha and the drinks in the fridge and the facility, I feel like I’ve been cheated my last eight years. These guys living like this? It’s incredible. Talking to these guys here and how they focus on getting you to perform at your best when your best is needed, I love that.”
Hargrave, too, will play a “revenge” game against the Eagles, his employer from 2020 to 2022.

Vikings.com Craig Peters wrote about Hargrave in March: “He helped the Eagles make it to Super Bowl LVII and the 49ers advance to LVIII but left each game disappointed by the outcome, despite combining on a TFL for San Francisco’s first snap and later recovering a fumble. In the 2022 Pro Bowl that followed the 2021 season, Hargrave started alongside Allen, now his new Vikings teammate.”
“Hargrave suffered a torn triceps in Week 3 of the 2024 season. He joins Minnesota with 380 tackles, 55 TFL, 45.5 sacks, 79 QB hits, eight passes defensed, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries (one in the end zone for a TD) in 130 games (115 starts).”
