If the Vikings Dealt for a Bears QB, Plus Trishton Jackson and a Packers Shock

VikingsTerritory logs all the bizarre items around the internet regarding the Minnesota Vikings on a weekly basis, placing them together in an article like this with a “nopedy nope” label.
Exploring the hypothetical: Vikings trade for a Bears QB, Trishton Jackson, and a surprising Packers storyline that would certainly turn heads around the NFL.
The series has consistently run for over a year and a half, with no signs of slowing down.
So, here are this week’s nopedy nopes.

The Vikings-themed items that are too bombastic for reality.

The Nopedy Nope: The Vikings could trade with the Bears for QB Tyson Bagent.
Heavy‘s Max Dible decided this week that Tyson Bagent could be an option for the Vikings.
He wrote, “Bagent could probably net the Bears a Day-3 draft pick from a team like the Vikings, which isn’t set at QB2 and also has questions about starter J.J. McCarthy due to his inexperience and all of his unknowns.”
“Sam Howell made a strong showing in the Vikings’ preseason opener against the Houston Texans on Saturday, but his job remains in real jeopardy. As he enters his fourth professional season, it’s clear that Howell belongs in the league. However, it isn’t clear that he should serve as the first line of defense behind McCarthy.”
The Vikings and Bears almost never engage in trade business.

Dible added, “The team acknowledged as much when head coach Kevin O’Connell chose to replace Howell during second-team work in favor of QB3 Brett Rypien approximately one week ago, and considerable trade speculation from Vikings insiders followed.”
“Thus, Howell’s 11-of-13 performance for 105 passing yards against Houston isn’t necessarily going to buy him anything, and it’s reasonable to assume that Minnesota will at least continue to keep its proverbial head on a swivel with regards to another, perhaps safer and more suitable option. Bagent fits that bill, potentially at the price of a Day-3 draft pick.”
It’s a neat theory, but intradivisional trades are rare.
The Verdict: Nopedy nope on a Vikings-Bears trade for Tyson Bagent.
The Nopedy Nope: Trishton Jackson could be a WR option for Minnesota.
Sadly, former Vikings wideout Trishton Jackson’s 2025 campaign has taken a downward spiral.

NBC Sports’ Myles Simmons explained this week, “The Cardinals have made a pair of moves at receiver. Arizona announced on Tuesday that the club has signed Kelly Akharaiyi and placed Trishton Jackson on injured reserve. Jackson departed Saturday’s preseason matchup against the Chiefs with a thumb injury.”
“Akharaiyi joins the club as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State. He had a tryout with the Cardinals on Monday after a pair of short stints with the Bills this offseason.”
Until Jackson hit injured reserve, he was on fans’ shortlists for a Rondale Moore replacement.
No cigar.
The Verdict: Nopedy nope on Trishton Jackson as a Rondale Moore replacement plan.
The Nopedy Nope: The Packers will appear in the Super Bowl this season.
USA Today‘s Nate Davis selected the Green Bay Packers to reach the Super Bowl this season.
He wrote, “Unlike the rest of their divisional rivals, they should benefit from continuity. And if QB Jordan Love remains healthy, rookie Matthew Golden makes the consistent impact not always provided by this receiving corps and they get off to a strong start — and the early part of the schedule seems to set up nicely — the Pack might just find themselves in the Super Bowl.”
Davis forecasted the Packers losing to the Baltimore Ravens on the grandest stage of them all.

About the Vikings, Davis opined, “They’re going to have to adapt — to new QB1 J.J. McCarthy, who lost his entire rookie season with a knee injury and watched Sam Darnold blossom into a Pro Bowler during his on-field absence. Similar to his time at the University of Michigan, McCarthy should have everything a quarterback could want in a supporting cast, including a fantastic coach in Kevin O’Connell.”
“But the Vikes will have to weather WR2 Jordan Addison’s three-game season suspension to start the season. And following their (voluntary) two-week European vacation, they’ll have the Eagles, Chargers, Lions and Ravens lined up on the opposite side of a Week 6 bye. Replicating last season’s 14-3 record — or even something close to it — seems like a long shot.”
Davis is the first notable pundit to pick Green Bay for February football.
The Verdict: The Packers could potentially click and get hot, but generally speaking, they’re a long shot to reach the Super Bowl.
