Vikings Beat Dallas โ and the Reaction Was Immediate

We had to wait until Week 15, but the Minnesota Vikingsย finally chalked up back-to-back winsย in the 2025 season thanks to a 34-26 win at AT&T Stadium on Sunday Night Football.
Minnesota delivered one of its most validating performances of the season Sunday night, stacking timely offense, situational defense, and composure in a road environment that usually swallows visiting teams.
The Vikings kicked off the game knowing that their slim hopes of making the playoffs had been snuffed out by the Chicago Bears’ win over the Cleveland Browns.
The Vikingsโ Win Over Dallas Triggered an Immediate Response
Now, the remainder of the season was truly all about the development of J.J. McCarthy. The game started in an auspicious fashion for the Vikings as their first passing attempt saw McCarthy’s throw batted into the air. Then, trying to salvage the situation, the young Vikings QB, in a crowd of players, batted the ball into the grateful arms of a Cowboys defender for an interception.

Rather than looking downbeat, McCarthy came off the field with a smile, despite that. When Dallas went up the field and scored a touchdown after keeping the drive alive with a fake field goal, Vikings fans could have been forgiven for thinking it was going to be “one of those nights.
With the ship steadied by good play on special teams and defense, McCarthy and the offense came back and scored points on six of their next seven drives. It was a second primetime win on the road this season for McCarthy, who was unsurprisingly in high spirits after the game and expressed his love for what he does, as it helped him through the tough moments.
It’s been a good two-week stretch for McCarthy since returning from a concussion, and with the 2-win New York Giants up next, he will have a good chance at continuing this good streak.
Former Vikings Pleased With What They Saw
After a grim few weeks for the Vikings, a couple of wins have everyone feeling a touch more positive about the future. Some Vikings alumni expressed their pleasure with the latest win.
The most pleasing aspect of this game was that it was a real team effort. All three phases of the game played their part, with good play-calling and solid execution on the field.
It was too little, too late for the 2025 season, but Minnesota will look to build on these two wins over the last three games and enter the 2026 season with confidence that they can have a better year.
