Our Official Prediction for Packers-Vikings in Week 12

VikingsTerritory writers have not performed well at predicting the purple team’s wins and losses over the last couple of weeks, another mark of the club’s overall inconsistency. But with Week 12 sending the show to Lambeau Field, our contributors are back at it.
Our official prediction for Packers–Vikings in Week 12 breaks down for individual writers and how the matchup could ultimately swing on Sunday.
While not across the board, most of our staff believes that Green Bay will win this matchup, sinking Minnesota to a disappointing 4-7 record through 12 weeks.
VikingsTerritory’s Prediction for Vikings at Packers
Minnesota still hasn’t lost a road divisional game this year.

Individual Writer Score Picks
Mostly rolling with Green Bay — that’s the gross to type — the group doesn’t have much faith in Minnesota after back-to-back home losses.
Dustin Baker: GB Wins, 27-17
Sean Borman: GB Wins, 24-21
Janik Eckardt: GB Wins, 24-17
Josh Frey: GB Wins, 21-17
Henrique Gucciardi: MIN Wins, 27-24
Wesley Johnson: GB Wins, 20-16
Kyle Joudry: MIN Wins, 21-18
Adam New: MIN Wins, 23-20
Tony Schultz: GB Wins, 30-20
Ted Schwerzler: GB Wins, 28-24
Ali Siddiqui: GB Wins, 24-16
Cole Smith: GB Wins, 18-13
In Week 11, Adam New most accurately picked the outcome of Vikings-Bears, choosing Chicago to prevail by three points. The Bears won by two, courtesy of a walkoff field goal by kicker Cairo Santos.
It’s worth noting that New notably picked Minnesota this week, unlike most of the panel.
Standings per Writer for the Season
This isn’t pretty, but here goes nothin’.
Kyle Joudry: 5-5
Sean Borman: 5-5
Janik Eckardt: 5-5
Adam New: 5-5
Ted Schwerzler: 5-5
Ali Siddiqui: 5-5
Dustin Baker: 4-6
Henrique Gucciardi: 4-6
Cole Smith: 4-6
Josh Frey: 3-7
Tony Schultz: 3-7
Wes Johnson: 3-7
The whole top half of the group leads the way while posting a mediocre prediction record. Usually at this time of year, we have one guy who is at least 8-2 or 7-3.

No cigar for the rollercoaster 2025 Vikings.
Score from a Collective Voice
No mystery here: our staff believes Green Bay will win this matchup. Our official score prediction is Green Bay over Minnesota, 23-19.
Minnesota hasn’t won three games in a row at Lambeau Field since the late 1970s. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy hasn’t lost a division game on the road yet. And when kickoff occurs, safety Harrison Smith will set a franchise record for most games played by a Viking at Lambeau Field (13).
Sportsbooks expect Minnesota to lose by six.
Other Predictions
A to Z Sports‘ Wendell Ferreira predicts Green Bay to win 21-14. He wrote this week, “The Packers have had ups and downs on both sides of the ball, but it’s still a good team, Matt LaFleur is a really good head coach, and Jordan Love is a really good quarterback.”
“Love is first in adjusted EPA/play, third in completion percentage over expectation, and eighth in success rate, and he’s clearly elevating what the Packers have on offense. The same applies to Micah Parsons on defense, putting everything in position to succeed.”
A loss would probably put Green Bay on the outside of the NFC’s playoff picture, at least temporarily.
Ferreira continued, “The Vikings also have talent, but J.J. McCarthy hasn’t shown much, and the skill position players surprisingly haven’t helped him as expected. Minnesota’s defense will always be dangerous with Brian Flores, but it hasn’t been as effective as last year — especially against the run. Green Bay is still learning how to play offense without Tucker Kraft, and it won’t be any easier while Jayden Reed is also out.”
“The Packers are the most unpredictable team in football, capable of beating the Detroit Lions and losing to the Cleveland Browns, but I’ll bet on the better quarterback.”

Tyler Forness at the same website picked Minnesota, 24-20, and explained, “The Packers are gashed with injuries, including a whopping 17 players on the initial injury report, with the top five wide receivers on it. Brian Flores has been really successful against the Packers over the last two years, with the Vikings winning three of those games.”
“It’s evident on film that the Vikings’ offense is cooking outside of the missed throws, and it’s only a matter of time until those end up hitting and the Vikings have an offensive explosion. That could come on Sunday, and it wouldn’t be a surprise.”
Need a tidbit of optimism about this weekend or about the head coach in general? Here’s a stat:
Kevin O’Connell,
Win-Loss Record,
as Vikings Head Coach:
Against Packers: 4-2
at Soldier Field: 4-0
Perhaps that Packers line will say ‘5-2’ by bedtime Sunday.
