Dustin Baker’s Post-Free Agency Vikings Mock Draft

The Minnesota Vikings have only four picks heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. The franchise donated oodles of draft capital for the pick that grabbed outside linebacker Dallas Turner in last year’s draft.

Dustin Baker’s Post-Free Agency Vikings Mock Draft

Minnesota addressed most offseason roster needs this week with the acquisitions of Ryan Kelly (C), Will Fries (G), Jonathan Allen (DT), Javon Hargrave (DT), and Isaiah Rodgers (CB) in free agency.

So, here’s the best stab at a predictive mock draft — the third edition — for the 2025 Vikings after free agency. Version 2.0 can be read here.

Trade!

To kick off the festivities, we predict a Vikings trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Vikings Get:
2nd-Rounder
(Pick 37)
3rd-Rounder (Pick 68)

Raiders Get:
1st-Rounder (Pick 24)
5th-Rounder (Pick 160)

Round 2 | Pick 37
Omarion Hampton (RB)

College = North Carolina

This will technically be considered a “reach” by Minnesota, but who cares when your favorite team has addressed all its offseason needs before the draft?

The Vikings haven’t employed a superstar young tailback since 2017 in Dalvin Cook, and it’s time to flash back to RB glory.

Ashton Jeanty won’t be there, but Hampton will, and Minnesota locks him in for five years.

Round 3 | Pick 68
Tate Ratledge (iOL)

College = Georgia

Ratledge is a guard’s guard who doesn’t offer much position flexibility. But if Minnesota wants an eventual possible upgrade over Blake Brandel, Ratledge can be the guy — either starting in 2025 or watching and learning for a year.

Conveniently, his stock on most draftboards is situated right around No. 68, making him a natural fit after the Vikings’ theoretical trade with the Raiders.

Round 3 | Pick 97
Andrew Mukuba (S)

Jerome Miron-Imagn Images.

College = Texas

The Vikings lost Camryn Bynum to free agency and will replace him with Theo Jackson.

That’s fine, and fans will hope that Jackson is the real deal, but as insurance, the Vikings could invest a mid- or late-round pick at safety.

In this mock draft, Mukuba gets the call, left on the board in Round 3. He’s a lean safety but makes up for it with speed and aggression.

Round 5 | Pick 138
Tommi Hill (CB)

College = Nebraska

A late-round flyer, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah tries Hill out in his secondary after Stephon Gilmore and Shaquill Griffin left this offseason.

He only played one season at corner in college, but he has roster versatility to be used on special teams — or even offense if the Vikings get really frisky.
