The P/PTSD Perspective: Vikings Should Pounce, KOC on Benching McCarthy, and Brosmer Question

PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, weโre promoting five of their top articles of the past week in โThe P/PTSD Perspective.โ Take a peek at some of their best stuff.
The P/PTSD Perspective: November 22nd, 2025
1) Broncos Release Former Viking, and Minnesota Should Pounce: Trent Sherfield is a rock-solid addition. In hockey, he would be a tough third-pair defenseman or a tenacious fourth-line forward. Physical, brings effort, and can help on specials. The chance of him ending up back in Minnesota appears small.

2) Kevin O’Connell Weighs-In on Benching J.J. McCarthy: To be sure, the option has to be considered. The sophomore has played in a manner that means he deserves to be benched. But while anyone completing roughly 53% of his passes should take a seat on the bench, J.J. McCarthy isn’t going to get what he deserves. The kid is going to continue to play.
3) ESPN Answers the Max Brosmer Question: Realistically, Max Brosmer is already a major success. Very few undrafted rookie QBs climb up to being the main backup. The fact that he’s a snap away from getting onto the field in his debut season is ultra impressive (even if an injury played a role in things). How much more can Minnesota squeeze out of Mr. Brosmer?

4) Injured Vikings Passer Goes Under the Knife: Carson Wentz should never pay for a drink in the Twin Cities ever again. His toughness — and Minnesota’s borderline cruel willingness to allow him to continue playing — was off the charts. Does he get healthy before coming back to Minnesota?
5) The Vikings Earn a “Not So Great” Review on Young QB1: Frankly, being in a “not-so-great” spot is a generous way of framing the issue. J.J. McCarthy has played awful football (though with some brilliance sprinkled in). I am among the few who think he’ll one day become a very good quarterback.

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
