The P/PTSD Perspective: Goodbye KOC Favorite, $54M Slump, and Max Brosmer as Starter

PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.
The P/PTSD Perspective: November 29th, 2025
1) Vikings Move on from Kevin O’Connell Favorite: All of the free Cam Akers practice squad promotions got burned up. If Minnesota was going to use him, Akers would have needed a spot on the 53. The Vikings decided to move on rather than do so, leading to the runner becoming a Seahawk.

2) Vikings Veteran Goes from Sizzle to Slump After $54M Payday: Keeping Byron Murphy Jr. wasn’t cheap. He’s a step below the NFL’s top corners for his salary, but he has never been elite. Rather, Murphy has been somewhere between average to very good. In 2025, Murphy has seen his game take a step back, creating issues for Minnesota.
3) Max Brosmer Becoming the Full-Time Starter is a Real Possibility: Essentially anything appears possible for the remaining games of 2026. J.J. McCarthy has been beyond bad (and he’s not solely to blame). Seeing Mr. Brosmer be the one to lead things for the next six games wouldn’t hit as a surprise.

4) A Vikings is about to be Benched, But He Doesn’t Deserve It: Every NFL team should have an offensive lineman like Blake Brandel. He’s tough, hard working, and extremely versatile. Can’t help but respect him and the work he puts into his craft. The amount of linemen capable of playing all five o-line positions is very thin.
5) Vikings’ Stolen Preseason Playmaker is Back: The depth depth safety has been tossed back onto the practice squad. Doing so amplifies the safety depth while muting the corner position. We’ll see if that decision ends up working out in 2025 (or, perhaps, in 2026).

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
