Dog Days Until Vikings Camp Seem More Like Dog Years

Vikings Territory Breakdown

They call this time of year on the calendar “the dog days of summer,” as the anticipation for the NFL season rises. But it seems more like dog years (each day is seven times longer), waiting for all to team training camps to begin and all the speculation to become moot. Vikings rookies report on July 20 with veterans coming in two days later—and the first practice takes place on July 25. But that doesn’t mean that all is quiet on the Eagan front.

There is a little news trickling out of TCO Performance Center, such as the fact that Swiss Army knife-like defender Josh Metellus is still not signed and wide receiver Jordan Addison had a court date this week. Hopefully there will be resolution on both accounts, and everyone will report to Eagan on time for camp.

In the meantime. we, the co-hosts of Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast (Joe Oberle, senior writer at vikingsterritory.com and purplePTSD.com and Mark Craig, NFL and Vikings writer for the Star Tribune and startribune.com), are still working to prepare you for camp. We will talk about what we will be looking for, our biggest concerns and what else might be worth knowing as you don your Vikings gear and head out to TCO in the final sweltering days of summer.

We will take a peak at rankings of Vikings personnel (on a strictly fantasy football basis), to get you ready your draft to be held in the next few weeks, as well. Plus, another dog-days look at the “100 Things Vikings Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die.” So, tune into the podcast and check it all out. Skol!
