The Almighty Vikings Trade Big Board for 2025

In slightly over three weeks, commissioner Roger Goodell will press the button on the league’s trade deadline, so all deals must be finalized by November 4th.
The Minnesota Vikings could, in theory, be buyers at the NFL’s trade deadline in three weeks, and our writers have predictions about possible targets.
Since 2022, the Minnesota Vikings have pulled off at least one trade per regular season, and while it’s not guaranteed this go-round, there’s a strong likelihood that general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah remains consistent with his pattern.
Accordingly, we asked our writers to identify one player apiece whom they believe will be traded to the Vikings. These are their responses.
Incoming Midseason Trade Targets for the Vikings
Our writers have predictive thoughts about Minnesota’s next swap.

1. Joe Tippmann | C — New York Jets
VT Predictor: Wesley Johnson
Tippmann is currently slated at guard for the Jets and played center in 2024. He graded out within the top 10 at the position. A 2023 2nd-Round pick, it might be costly to acquire him, but the fit would be an obvious choice.
2. Denzel Ward | CB — Cleveland Browns
VT Predictor: Kyle Joudry
Talking myself into CB Denzel Ward or C Ethan Pocic. Browns angle (a sinking ship) alongside the Kwesi Adofo-Mensah connection. Areas of need. Veterans who can quickly learn a new scheme.
3. Alontae Taylor | CB — New Orleans Saints
VT Predictor: Josh Frey
The Jeff Okudah experiment really hasn’t worked out for Minnesota to this point, and they could still use another defensive back to take some pressure off their current starters. Taylor is a solid rental option if the Vikings reach the trade deadline with the playoffs still in reach.
4. Evan Neal | OT — New York Giants
VT Predictor: Cole Smith
My prediction is that Minnesota will add an offensive lineman, and Giants guard Evan Neal fits that bill. Neal has been a healthy scratch all season, but he was the 7th overall pick in the 2022 draft, making him a prime target for Kwesi Adofo-Mensah at a position that needs depth.
5. Joshua Williams | CB — Kansas City Chiefs
VT Predictor: Dustin Baker
This 2022 4th-Round pick looks buried in Kansas City right now, and a few NFL outlets have already tossed his name onto trade-block lists.
If he’s not seeing the field for the Chiefs, why not send him north? Minnesota could use the depth, and Williams still has upside. Here’s how opposing quarterbacks have fared when targeting him so far in his career via passer-rating-against:
- 2025: No Snaps
- 2024: 77.4
- 2023: 82.7
- 2022: 104.9
Adofo-Mensah could obtain Williams for a late-round pick — he has plenty of those — and Williams could become the “new Jeff Okudah” at CB3.
6. Jeffrey Simmons | DT, Tennessee Titans
VT Predictor: Sean Borman

There aren’t many obvious needs on the roster, so I had to go big. The Vikings spent a substantial chunk of money upgrading the trenches this offseason.
On the defensive line, they focused on improving the pass rush, a move that ultimately led to them trading their best run-stuffer in Harrison Phillips. Lately, they’ve paid for it, as their last two opponents have averaged 4.4 and 4.5 yards per rush, respectively.
Simmons would upgrade an already deep IDL group, adding an elite player who defends the run just as well as he rushes the passer. Simmons’ 3.5 sacks would lead the team. The Vikings would immediately have the deepest defensive line in football.
The trade would likely set the stage for a future spring trade involving Jonathan Allen or Javon Hargrave. Either move would free up $15M+ in 2026 salary cap space. Simmons’ contract has one more season of guaranteed money, $20M in 2026.
7. Bradley Chubb | EDGE — Miami Dolphins
VT Predictor: Adam New
With Andrew Van Ginkel’s neck injury lingering on, adding some veteran pass rush in the form of Bradley Chubb would be a good move for the Vikings
t8. Tariq Woolen | CB — Seattle Seahawks
VT Predictor: Tony Schultz
Tariq Woolen from Seattle would make the most sense. He’s had some ups and downs with the Seahawks, and they may be looking to move on. It seems that the depth at other areas of the Vikings is sound, but the cornerbacks are thin, particularly without any injuries. He also fits in Brian Flores’ scheme as a big, physical backer.
t8. Tariq Woolen | CB — Seattle Seahawks

VT Predictor: Henrique Gucciardi
Although the Vikings paid Byron Murphy Jr. in March, and Isaiah Rodgers is playing at a high level, a third CB is still a need for this team. Woolen is a young option and would allow more stability on the back end than Jeff Okudah.
t8. Tariq Woolen | CB — Seattle Seahawks
VT Predictor: Janik Eckardt
The Vikings’ corners have held up pretty well through five games, but they could still be in the market for some more help. Woolen has been inconsistent over the last couple of years, but he possesses intriguing physical tools and is worth a flyer in his contract year.
