Minicamp Ends and Training Camp Looms for the Vikings

Vikings Territory Breakdown Podcast

The Vikings ended minicamp last week and now head toward a bit of a break before Training Camp at TCO Performance Center begins in late July (the first practice on July 26). That means the topics for such podcasts as this one tend to slim in number. But that has never stopped us (the fellas at Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast—Joe Oberle, senior writer at vikingsterritory.com and purplePTSD.com and Mark Craig, NFL and Vikings writer for the Star Tribune and startribune.com.) from blathering on all about things Purple.

And so we shall, first with a recap of what we learned at minicamp. Who shined, who rusted and, most importantly, how did starting quarterback JJ McCarthy do? Once again, there are some undrafted rookies to talk about (particularly this year, as the Vikings only had five draft picks), so those names are worth a look as the camp nears and ultimately, the roster begins to be trimmed.

Also, we are going to try out a new segment during these dog days of the Vikings offseason—one designed to inform all Vikings fans on what they need to know about the Purple. Mark Craig wrote a book a few years ago called “100 Things Vikings Should Know Before They Die” (frankly all they really need to know before they die is that their favorite team is a Super Bowl champion, but that’s a discussion for another time) and we’d like to take a look at a few of them—so you are all well-informed Vikings fans. So, tune into the podcast and check out that new segment. Perhaps Mark knows something you don’t. In the meantime, Skol!
