Josh Frey’s 2025 NFL Standings Predictions: NFC East

The NFL season is fast approaching now that teams have trimmed their rosters down to 53 players.
With that in mind, let’s take a look across the league and break down every division. Today, we begin that process with predictions for the NFC East.
2025 NFL Standings Predictions: NFC East

1. Philadelphia Eagles (13-4)
The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a dominant Super Bowl season, and now, they look to defend their title while quite possibly getting even better this offseason. They added more defensive help in the draft with picks of Jihaad Campbell, Andrew Mukuba, and Ty Robinson.
Few teams have been as efficient with their draft selections as the Eagles over the past few years, and as long as Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley stay healthy, it’s hard to see this team falling off all that much in 2025.
2. Dallas Cowboys (9-8)
2025 is a massive year for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. After a disappointing 7-10 campaign last year, Prescott needs to show that he is worth the $240 million contract that Dallas handed him last offseason.

While they may not get back to the consistent 12 wins that they were at a couple years ago, this shouldn’t be quite as disastrous a year in Dallas. Now, this could all come crashing down if Micah Parsons is no longer in the organization, but we’re going to operate under the assumption that a deal gets done. With the addition of George Pickens to the wide receiver room, the Cowboys offense should be able to help carry this team to nine wins.
3. Washington Commanders (8-9)
Jayden Daniels’ rookie season went about as well as any Commanders fan could have dreamed of, but is a drop off in store in 2025? The Commanders played 13 one-score games in 2024 and finished 9-4 in those games.
On top of that, Washington’s schedule gets much tougher after the success they saw last year, particularly after their Week 12 bye. They played just four games against teams that made the playoffs last season, and now, that schedule includes eight games against 2024 playoff teams. This defense could also see even more struggles after the departure of Jonathan Allen.

4. New York Giants (4-13)
It’s a circus in New York with a quarterback room that includes Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Poor Jaxson Dart is just along for the ride. It’s a crazy dynamic in a quarterback room, and it has me worried that it could lead to a drop off of Malik Nabers who absolutely carried this offense in 2024.
Defensively, this is still a great unit led by names like Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and 2025 first-round pick Abdul Carter, but they need to show that this quarterback room is under control before they can win games consistently.
