Happy New Year, folks.

Safe to say the 2023 calendar year has been an eventful one. Minnesota has done marvellously and disastrously, oscillating between victorious Vikings and vanquished Vikings. Along the way, Vikings Territory‘s coverage has sought to keep readers informed and entertained. Take a look at some of the best stories of the past year as we march into a brand new year.

Some of Vikings Territory’s Top Stories of 2023

1) Vikings Now Employ the Fastest Player in NFL: Speed will always intrigue the NFL (both teams and fans). Keep in mind, though, that it’s merely one desirable trait. Possessing elite wheels can certainly be a weapon but the lightning quick player will need to do other things well to justify a roster spot. In the end, the Vikings’ fast corner didn’t get a chance to stick around.

2) Former Viking Signs with Dolphins: Myles Dorn hung around in Minnesota for a little while but never rose to starting-level prominence. In 2023, the Vikings have leaned heavily on their safeties, turning to the Harrison Smith/Camryn Bynum/Josh Metellus trio for a massive role for Brian Flores.

3) Former Viking Joins Aaron Rodgers’ Team: Ah, yes, Mr. Rodgers. He never fails to inspire strong feelings in Minnesota. He terrorized the Vikings for years, so he has made some enemies in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Rodgers is working alongside many former Vikings in New York.

4) The T.J. Hockenson Injury Update is Brutal: T.J. Hockenson has solidified his status as being among the NFL’s most talented tight ends. At times, he gets used a bit too conservatively (more shots in the intermediate area of the field would be a welcome development), but he is more than earning his large contract. The injury is super discouraging.

5) Very Quietly, the Vikings Said Goodbye to Yet Another Quarterback: Generally speaking, QB chaos ensues whenever a team loses its starter. Not too many franchises are able to weather the storm that comes from losing the top signal caller. For a time, the Vikings looked like they could overcome, but the season has been trending in the wrong direction for Kevin O’Connell & Co.

Everyone at Vikings Territory sends along their sincere well wishes for a wonderful 2024. May it be filled with health, joy, and maybe even some Vikings success.
