The P/PTSD Perspective: Trading Out of the Logjam, Cine’s Next Step, and UDFA Upside
PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.
The P/PTSD Perspective: May 4th, 2024
1) With the QB Logjam in Place, Do the Vikings Pull Off a Trade?: Sam Darnold isn’t going anywhere and neither is J.J. McCarthy. What about Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens? There’s no way the Vikings carry four quarterbacks into the regular season, so something’s gotta give.
2) Brian Flores is Going to be a Very Happy Man: Every DC loves adding pass rushers. Expect the tactician who is calling the plays for Minnesota’s defense to find unique and creative ways for the rookie to get after the QB. Dallas Turner has a role to play even if he doesn’t snag a starter’s job in Year 1.
3) Lewis Cine’s NFL Career Takes its Next Step: Major offseason for Mr. Cine. The 2022 1st-round selection still has a ton of potential, but the level of competition is increasing, not decreasing. All of the safeties are back and then there’s added talent at corner. Cine needs to earn his spot.
4) The Vikings Once Again Landed One of the Top Undrafted Free Agents: The work Kwesi Adofo-Mensah does after the draft is impressive. For three years, the Vikings’ GM has been very aggressive when it comes to adding top remaining talent. Ivan Pace is the best success story, but there have been others (NaJee Thompson, Ryan Wright, Andre Carter, etc.).
5) New Vikings Defender Was “Salty” with New Vikings Quarterback: Before becoming teammates, Dallas Turner and J.J. McCarthy were rivals. In fact, the two squared off in the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs. For a time, Turner was a bit “salty” in the game’s aftermath.
