1) New Vikings CB Has Been Turning Heads Early: Seeing positive play from Shaq Griffin early on bodes well for where Minnesota is going. Getting some stickier coverage, especially along the outside, will go a long way in the Vikings being able to improve upon their overachieving defense from 2023.
2) Kevin O’Connell Looks to Give Vikings Rumor Knockout Punch: KO looking to give the KO punch? The trade Jefferson rumors are still working through the broader Vikings discussion. The team’s head coach did his best to finish off the rumor.
3) Well-Paid UDFA Receiver Looking to Fill Open Spot in Vikings’ WR Competition: Follow the money and see what a team actually thinks. Kicking over so much in guaranteed cash suggests that there was competition from other teams to sign the receiver and that the Vikings think he has potential.
4) The Vikings’ Single Largest Cap Hit is a Bit Surprising and Discouraging: Kirk Cousins is the gift that keeps on giving. He’s now in Atlanta as their QB1 of the present and maybe the future (depending on No. 8 pick Michael Penix Jr.). Even still, Cousins has the single largest cap charge for the Vikings.
5) NFC North Round Up: Ranking the WR Rooms for All 4 Teams: Think a Vikings team boasting Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison is a lock to take top spot? Not so fast. The NFC North has some excellent talent at receiver. Take a look to see what the hierarchy looks like.
