1) Amidst Rumors, Justin Jefferson Makes a Cryptic Social Media Post: Does sinking a 1st into the promising passer from Michigan make the Jefferson extension easier? There are a ton of people in Minnesota who are anxious about this situation. Safe to say that after the draft, the top priority for the decision makers in Eagan is to ensure #18 is around for the long haul.
2) The Vikings Trade Up the Board Could Come Sooner than Expected: Not only did the Vikings trade up the board for a QB, but they did so for an edge rusher, as well. In so doing, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah more than lived up to some of the A+ mocks that featured the Vikings getting a QB and a defender in RD1.
3) One Vikings Free Agency Acquisition Has Kevin O’Connell Very Excited: The former Packer is going to make life easier for whoever is under center. Simply handing off the football for first downs is a pretty good way to go, especially if it’s J.J. McCarthy acclimating to life in the NFL.
4) Former Fan Favorite Viking Hangs Up His Cleats: Definitely an underdog story. The undersized defensive lineman provided a bit of pass-rush sizzle in his time with the Vikings, but he’s now moving onto life after football.
5) Brian Flores is Going to be a Very Happy Man: Has there ever been a defensive coordinator who wasn’t interested in adding more pass rushers? Flores is a well-respected tactician on the defensive side of the ball. Giving him another weapon to toss onto the field on 3rd down is brilliant.
