The Minnesota Vikings advanced to 11-2 this past weekend with what ended up being a dominant victory of the Atlanta Falcons.
Now, the Vikings have a chance to clinch a spot in the playoffs this weekend if they win or tie in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears. Ahead of that matchup, here is a look at what Minnesota Vikings fans need to know about this rematch with their division rivals.
The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings will face off inside U.S. Bank Stadium on Monday, December 15th. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. and can be viewed on ABC and ESPN+. It can also be streamed on NFL+ in the NFL app as well as with NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV.
In the histories of these two storied franchises, the Bears and Vikings have met a grand total of 127 times. In total, the Vikings lead the all-time series with a record of 69-58-2 against their division rivals, but this included a 35-18 loss in a Wild Card game during the 1994 season.
The Vikings did win the most recent matchup between these teams in Week 12, defeating the Bears 30-27 in a Week 12 overtime thriller. The win means the Vikings have now won five of the last six meetings between the two teams.
D.J. Moore has not enjoyed quite as much success in 2024 as he did when he put up career-high numbers in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns during his first season in Chicago, but things are starting to turn around for the veteran receiver.
In fact, Moore has recorded at least six receptions in each of the past four games for Chicago, and in the first matchup against the Vikings, he caught seven passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. He helped spark Chicago’s comeback in that game, and the Vikings will need to slow him down if they want to sweep the season series.
Jalen Redmond has burst onto the scene in Minnesota this year, totaling four tackles for loss in the past two weeks and six total for the season. His breakout comes as a breath of fresh air for Minnesota at a defensive tackle position that largely has relied on veteran journeymen over the past few years.
Redmond made his first career NFL start last weekend for the Vikings, and he may be in line to start back-to-back weeks when Minnesota takes on the Bears in primetime.
