The Minnesota Vikings drafted Justin Jefferson 22nd overall during the 202 NFL draft. He was not the first wide receiver taken, and he held that chip on his shoulder. Despite arguably being the league’s best talent and earning a monumental contract, the NFL itself has yet to notice.

The National Football League is also on board with this, but it appears the league is a bit confused about who is the best.

While rolling out the latest top 100 list, Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson was ranked just 18th overall. Despite being arguably the best pass catcher in the entire league, the NFL found 17 players to put in front of him. Understandably, the best quarterback would lead the rankings and maybe even some of the best tackles. Beyond that, few positions are more impactful with how the game is played currently than the wide receiver position.

Justin Jefferson in Week 18 Could Get Dicey

Even though he missed a substantial amount of time last season, Jefferson returned and still put up a 1,000-yard season. He returns to a Minnesota Vikings team in 2024 that will break in a new quarterback. No one believes that this Kevin O’Connell collection can be any good, but Jefferson doesn’t care. He knows the immense amount of talent he possesses, and he is clearly excited about the ability to push the roster forward.

Maybe the league needs to see a fully healthy Jefferson to remember how dominant the Minnesota wideout is. If and when he puts up gaudy numbers with a previously poorly-rated Sam Darnold, then the top 100 can elevate him to the first overall position. Regardless, the wide receiver position hasn’t seen someone like this in quite some time.

Unfortunately, Jefferson is currently being slept on, but that shouldn’t last for too much longer.

To round out the rankings, the NFL Top 100 ranked Patrick Mahomes as the league’s fourth-best player — a total laugher.
