Vikings Bubble Burst with a Loss to the Lions

Vikings Territory Breakdown Podcast

The Vikings’ perfect season has ended, but it is far from over. The Detroit Lions came to town and put together four consecutive scoring drives in the middle quarters, and that put the Vikings behind the 8-ball. They did battle and retake the lead in the fourth quarter with a scoop and score by Ivan Pace, but the offense didn’t hold up their end of the deal by getting a couple first downs late and the Lions win with a field goal.

With the home loss, the Vikings drop into a tie with the Lions at the top of the NFC North at 5-1 (but are behind the Lions due to the head-to-head tiebreaker). The Packers are right behind at 5-2 and the Bears, who were on bye this week are a game behind at 4-1. The tight battle in the division continues, with each game very important. But the Vikings get a chance to move on from this one as they head to Los Angeles to take on the Rams on Thursday night football. It is a quick turnaround, but the Purple and their fans are ready to flush this loss and start another win streak.

But before that happens, we have talk about this one. So, the fellas at Vikings Territory Breakdown podcast—Joe Oberle, senior writer at vikingsterritory.com and purplePTSD.com and Mark Craig, NFL and Vikings writer for the Star Tribune and startribune.com—will be on hand to discuss it all. From sluggish offense to a potentially exposed defense, we will have it all. Tune in and check it out.
