Questions Answered: K.J. Osborn Reunion with Vikings, Brian Flores and Bears, Remainder of the Season W-L
Also, please note: These are opinion-based responses. Some answers will be incorrect from time to time. But we’ll try to keep that to a minimum.
Q: Would you endorse a reunion between K.J. Osborn and the Vikings?
Answer: No.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Tuesday, “Patriots are waiving WR K.J. Osborn, per source. It was a mutual decision, and he now will have a chance to catch on to a team where he will be able play more.”
Minnesota already employs Jalen Nailor, Brandon Powell, and Trent Sherfield. Osborn wouldn’t really be a notable upgrade.
He couldn’t find a spot in the Patriots’ wide receiver room, which is the worst in football.
Too, the Vikings had about two months to re-sign Osborn in February and March — and didn’t. They were ready to move on. Osborn then regressed in New England.
Osborn is fantastic dude, but no thanks on a reunion.
Q: Will Brian Flores really become the head coach of the Chicago Bears?
Answer: It’s a reasonable possibility, yes.
Bears podcaster and author Dan McNeil tweeted Monday, one day after the Bears’ record fell to a lousy 4-8 mark: “Sources confirm these FOUR coaches are on the Bears’ list for HC: Ben Johnson, Brian Flores, Joe Brady, Mike Vrabel. They may want to talk to more candidates, but they’re targeting these four. More as soon as I get it.”
In all likelihood, the Bears will probably tab an offense-first head coach like Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to nurture Caleb Williams, but Flores cannot be ruled out.
He kind of feels like a Bears head coach — fearless and mean.
Q: How will the Vikings finish in their final four games?
Answer: Let’s go with 2-2.
A win over the Bears on Monday Night Football. A loss at the Seattle Seahawks because that place is a house of horrors for Minnesota. Hopefully they defeat the Green Bay Packers at home — losing back-to-back games at home to Green Bay would be embarrassing.
Then, Detroit will likely find a way to prevail in Week 18.
We say a 13-4 record overall, which is emphatically not disappointing.
