4 Bold Predictions for the Remainder of the Vikings’ Season

The Minnesota Vikings remain in the league’s Top 6 Super Bowl odds, outfitted with a +1700 moneyline through 14 weeks, the same probability as the Green Bay Packers.

4 Bold Predictions for the Remainder of the Vikings’ Season

That’s the advantage of an 11-2 start. Minnesota has won six straight after a two-game, post-bye losing skid and is absolutely back on track.

So, with four regular season games to go and the postseason afoot, these are four bold Vikings predictions for the season’s remainder.

1. The Jordan Addison Ignition Continues

Jordan Addison has popped off in the last few weeks, which was Minnesota’s plan all along when it drafted him 20 months ago.

Addison is on pace for 926 receiving yards this season — despite missing two games to an ankle injury — and he’ll hit the 1,000-yard mark in Week 17 or Week 18.

He might even hit 1,100 yards. The 22-year-old will also tally 10 total touchdowns or more.

2. Aaron Jones Doesn’t Fumble Again

Heading into last weekend, fans were skittish about ball security, as Aaron Jones had already tabulated a career-high (5) for fumbles in a season.

Then, he showed up against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and protected the rock.

Jones is not a career-long fumble merchant or anything of the sort. It would always make sense that he would figure out the fumble bug before letting it ravage the rest of his 2024 campaign with a new team.

No more fumbles for Jones. Those are done.

3. Kevin O’Connell Wins Coach of the Year

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images. The Vikings defeated the New York Jets in London, running their 2024 start-of-season win streak to five games.

This is a tight race at the moment, but Kevin O’Connell will prevail.

Award voters love handing the COTY trophy to an “against all odds” candidate, and men like Mike Tomlin and Dan Campbell — the other frontrunners — don’t fit the criteria.

Via very narrow vote, O’Connell will win the NFL’s Coach of the Year honor.

4. The Vikings Beat TB or ATL in Round 1 of Playoffs, Lose to PHI in Round 2

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports.

Probably not a popular prediction, Minnesota will topple the NFC South winner in five weeks and might do so handily. The Vikings are more than good enough to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Atlanta Falcons on the road.

Thereafter, reality will set in. The Packers will travel to Detroit for battle with the Lions. Minnesota will embark onward to Philadelphia for a Divisional Round showdown. The Eagles’ offensive and defensive trenches will be too much for Minnesota, and the would-be storybook season will conclude.

Philadelphia will beat Detroit in the NFC Title Game.
