With the type of move that occurs frequently, a Minnesota Vikings wide receiver is back.
On Tuesday, Minnesota waived Trishton Jackson but added him back the next day. Business will resume for the young wideout as if it never stopped.
The Vikings promoted Jackson to the active roster last week after Justin Jefferson hit injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Jefferson will miss at least three more games, and along with N’Keal Harry, Jackson is an option for WR snaps on gameday sans Jefferson.
Minnesota also designated wide receiver Jalen Nailor for return this week and has about three weeks to formally activate the speedster to the 53-man roster. Like Jefferson, Nailor was on IR with a hamstring injury.
Kick returner + running back Kene Nwangwu rejoined the active roster this week when Jackson was waived and is expected to return kicks on Monday Night Football when the Vikings host the San Francisco 49ers in four days.
These men comprise the Vikings practice squad heading into Week 7:
Like many NFL teams, the Vikings tend to waive players for roster tweaks and add them back thereafter. Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn, Brandon Powell, and N’Keal Harry remain at wide receiver on the active roster.

An undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020, Jackson stayed on Los Angeles’ depth chart for about a year and a half before eventually landing with the Vikings in 2021. He’s impressed back-to-back Vikings coaching staffs and general managers.
He caught 66 passes for 1,023 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season at Syracuse four years ago. The youngster has yet to hit the field for a regular season snap in his NFL career.
Jackson is most prominently known by Vikings fans for fabulous summer catches at training camp like this:
Minnesota is a seven-point underdog this week versus San Francisco, its largest home underdog status since 2014.
