It never gets old with this team, does it?!?

Again in dramatic fashion, the Minnesota Vikings came out on top this week with a 27-24 victory over the New York Giants. Of course, it was on the final drive, Kirk’s league-leading eighth game-winning drive, and of course, it was a one-score game, the eleventh such win for the Vikings this season.

But there was more to it today, as records were getting broken left and right in this game for the Vikings. Here’s a quick synopsis of the history that occurred on the field today.

  • Dalvin Cook passed Chuck Foreman today on the Vikings all-time rushing list moving into 3rd place with 5,821 rushing yards (Peterson leads with 11,747).
  • Justin Jefferson passed Randy Moss for the most receiving yards in a single season with 1,756 yards on the season and more to come.
  • Jefferson also moved into the top-10 for most receiving yards in a single season (Calvin Johnson tops with 1,964).
  • T.J. Hockenson reeled in 13 passes, the most in franchise history for a tight end in a single game.
  • Greg Joseph hit a 61-yard game-winning field goal to close this one out, breaking his own franchise record of 56 yards for the longest kick in regular season play.
  • The Vikings got their 11th win by one score, a new NFL single-season record.

This is a special team we’re watching on the field right now, and as they improve to 12-3 on the season, there will be more new records to come for these players.
