Sansevere: I Was Convinced the Vikings Were Headed for 0-4 – Podcast The BS Show

Bob Sansevere Talks Vikings

When the Vikings fell behind 17-7 to the Seattle Seahawks, I already started writing my column for the Pioneer Press.

It was not going to be a kind account.

At that point, I was convinced the Vikings would lose to the Seahawks — Russell Wilson had never lost to them — and then lose to the Cleveland Browns.

And then they’d be 0-4 with no hope of turning the season around.

But this team on this day was not like the teams we have come to know under Mike Zimmer.

This team resurrected in the midst of the game.

Kirk Cousins was on fire. The offensive line protected him, Justin Jefferson showed last season wasn’t a fluke, Alexander Mattison did a damn good Dalvin Cook imitation, Greg Joseph made every kick, and the defense figured out how to keep Wilson from easily completing passes.

Afterward, Zimmer said he told the team it was the best offensive performance in his eight years as coach.

If the offense continues to play the way it did Sunday, and the defense and special teams do, too, this might not just be a lost season.

I touch on that and more in this episode of The BS Show.
