Some see a trap game for the surging Vikings in Dallas
I’ve been covering the Minnesota Vikings for a “living” for long enough now to know that the majority of people who see and comment on our content on social media respond more to the headline than the substance of the article itself.
Case in my point, my ‘Should the Vikings trade Danielle Hunter for their QB of the future?’ article, which has over 25k impressions on Twitter alone. Most comments are “NO! WHY EVEN ASK?”
A) I didn’t ask. Another writer (from a much more influential (or at least respected) entity did.
B) I responded to that with MY thoughts
C) I actually AGREE with you and said as much
Why am I bringing this up? Outside of finding a way to humble brag about Twitter while low-key insulting our readers?
Because I realize that this article may see the same fate. Some people believe in the power of words and that we can speak things into existence.
That super long intro aside, the point here is that while many in the Vikings media/online fandom have the Vikings destroying the lowly Cowboys Sunday (and even going 7-0 through mid-December), there are some in the national/sports-betting arena that have the Cowboys FAVORED over the purple.
Case in point, Sports Betting Dime’s predicted score has the Cowboys winning by 2 points even though the Vikings are favorites by 7 points according to the spread.
With the news that Ezra Cleveland is out for Sunday, as well as the Cowboys’ talented roster and apparent super easy path to the playoffs, my point is that we shouldn’t overlook this (or any) game as this defense is till young and as we’ve seen before the bye anything can happen this season.
That having been said, I fully expect the Vikings to continue their winning ways before ending the season 11-5 on their way to their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Because I guess I’ll try that whole “speaking things into existence” idea. As, clearly, being the perennial wet blanket around these parts hasn’t worked so far!
