Vikings Announce Roster Moves, Add TE Josiah Price, LS Nick Dooley

Team adds depth at tight end and long snapper

According to the team’s Twitter feed, the Minnesota Vikings officially signed kicker Kai Forbath Wednesday. It was reported Tuesday that he had reached an agreement with the team on a one-year contract. The team also announced the signing of tight end Josiah Price and long snapper Nick Dooley.

In 23 games for the Vikings, Forbath has made 47 of 53 field goal attempts (88.7 %) and is 45 of 53 (84.9%) on extra point attempts. Last season, the 30 year-old made a career-high 32 field goals on 38 attempts (84.2%). From 50 yards or more Forbath went 6 of 9 (66.7%). He converted on 34 of 39 (87.2%) extra points.

Price (Age 24, 6-4, 250 lbs.) joined the roster as an undrafted free agent last offseason but was released during roster reductions. He’s a Michigan State alum (along with former Spartan Kirk Cousins).

Dooley (6-8, 300 lbs.) played college football at UTEP (Univeristy of Texas El-Paso). He played in 49 games for the Miners.

The Vikings also waived linebacker Shaan Washington. Washington, 24, joined the team as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He was placed on injured reserve last July with a season-ending leg injury.

  1. JMHO here but the Vikings sure could use a seam busting TE with good hands if they could find one in the draft ~ I’m fine with Rudolph when he is healthy ~ I don’t believe he is more than one season ((( with Bradford at QB ))) when he was mostly healthy over a full season ~ Last year he played I believe it was the last two games and in the playoffs on a bum ankle ~ After that 25 yard TD on the first drive vs the Saints in the playoffs he did little ot knowing ~ I cant even remember his making a catch in the Eagles game ~ ???

I don’t believe Josiah Price or Nick Dooley are anything other than a look see in training camp in case of injuries once the season starts ~ But I do welcome all sleepers like Thielen among others who come shining through all the battles ~

    1. I’m with you Gordon. I see the Vikings drafting a TE in April’s draft. With the salary cap getting tight next season Rudolph could be a contract restructure/cut candidate.
