Vikings Close to Full Strength for NFC Championship

By Sean Borman

Heading into Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Minnesota Vikings are near full strength.

Wide receiver Adam Thielen returned to practice yesterday as a limited participant after missing Wednesday’s session with a lower back injury. He practiced once again Friday.

Fellow receiver Michael Floyd returned to the field after missing Thursday’s session due to an illness.

Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo suffered a concussion against the Saints but has practiced all week. Sendejo was a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday and hit the field once again Friday. Head coach Mike Zimmer expects the veteran to play Sunday.

Defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (knee/ankle) was injured in last Sunday’s playoff victory over the New Orleans Saints. He missed three straight practices this week and will likely be the only Vikings to miss Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles barring an unexpected turn of events. Jaleel Johnson and Brian Robison are in line for more playing time if Stephen is unable to play.

The team’s full injury report is below.
