WR Michael Floyd Sentenced To Complete House Arrest, Serve One Day In Jail

According to this tweet by ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Michael Floyd was sentenced by a Scottsdale judge to one day in jail for violating the terms of his house arrest.

Floyd was in court today to discuss his positive alcohol tests. The Vikings came to his defense before the hearing. Both Floyd and the team claimed the wideout did not realize kombucha tea contained alcohol. It appears the judge did not care.

Floyd must serve 24 hours behind bars as well as finish the five remaining days of his house arrest.

Barring an unexpected turn of events, this legal setback will not affect Floyd’s employment status with the Vikings.

I'll confess, I don't really understand what's going on with this guy. DUI? Tea? On tap? One day in Jail? House arrest? Kombucha? WTH?

If Floyd is serious about fixing his problem, instead of one day in jail, he should have volunteered to hand cuff himself to JeffMetaUniversalPeaceDugan until training camp. Imagine Floyd trying to drive drunk with our favorite hunk of man meat in the passenger seat. Floyd would obtain a different perspective on life in a very short period of time.
