Vikings Cut Tracker: The Final 53

On Friday, reports began to develop about the Minnesota Vikings already releasing a few players from their roster before Saturday’s 4pm eastern deadline. The moves have been continuing today as the Vikings get closer to finalizing their 53 man roster for the 2016 regular season.
Here’s what we know so far.
– Reports came in Friday about Minnesota releasing the following players.
- Brad Sorensen, QB
- Carter Bykowski, OT
- Travis Raciti, DT
- Zach Moore, DE
- Denzell Perine, LB
– Saturday began with the humungous news of the Vikings trading for quarterback Sam Bradford. With the trade, the team may have a better chance at success in 2016 than if they were to roll with Shaun Hill.
– According to Chis Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, Minnesota is more than likely to part ways with the following players on Saturday.
- Isaac Fruchte, WR
- Moritz Böhringer, WR
- Jhurrel Pressley, RB
- Toby Johnson, DT
- Tre Roberson, CB
- Joel Stave, QB
- Blake Renaud, FB
- C.J. Ham, RB
- Kyle Carter, TE
- Brandon Watts, LB
- Stephen Weatherly, DE
- Willie Beavers, OL
- Kenrick Ellis, DT (only player released and not put on waivers)
– Tomasson also added that Vikings quarterback Taylor Heinicke will likely begin the season on the team’s reserve, NFI list. Heinicke’s recovery from his foot injury has apparently been going well, but with Bradford now on the roster there is no need to rush him back
– Minnesota has released an official announcement of who the team has released today. The list includes the players from above as well as the following additional players.
- Isame Faciane, OG
- Jake Ganus, LB
The Vikings also announced that two players have been placed on Injured Reserve.
- Michael Griffin, S
- Jabari Price, CB
