After Midnight, Nothing Good Happens At A McDonald’s

By Adam Warwas

In the post below this one, we passed along the news that Minnesota fullback Jerome Felton was nabbed for a second degree DWI early Saturday morning.

What is otherwise a pathetic story took a somewhat (only somewhat) humorous turn on Monday when Judd Zulgad of 1500 ESPN reported that Felton was busted in none other than a McDonald’s drive-thru line.

According to the report, police were alerted to an intoxicated driver in a McDonald’s drive-thru and were able to respond before Felton received his order of seven big mac’s and a McFlurry (that part is speculation) and drive off.

Interestingly enough, this is not the first time in recent memory that a Vikings player ended up in the headlines due to a late night visit to a McDonald’s.  In January of last year, Adrian Peterson got a McDonald’s worker fired when she let him into the restaurant after hours to use the restroom.

Thus, I think it is safe to say, nothing good happens at a McDonald’s after midnight.

Or strip clubs.

Or Miami nightclubs.

Or boats on Lake Minnetonka.

  • Kind of like alcoholic Gremlins...feed 'em after midnight, and bad things happen.

  • Who is this CB Corey Gatewood the Vikes signed today? I never heard of him. I guess he is from Stanford. Seems to me they could have done a little better in filling Asher Allens spot.

  • Corey will switch to WR for the Vikings.
He must be fast for the Vikings to be interested in him? Corey only had 25 tackles in his career at Stanford. He returned 10 kickoffs, a few punts... caught a couple balls an ran a few times.

The scouts were working overtime to find this kid.

  • The Vikings' transaction page lists Corey as a WR, but the roster shows him as a CB.
    ???

I should just keep my mouth shut cause I really don't know what plans the Vikings have for him.

    Could be DB/WR type?

  • No wait. Corey can also play RB. 1000 yard rusher in high school. 7.8 yards per carry at Stanford.

    Track star too.

2 ints as a CB at Stanford... Looks like Corey can do a little bit of everything.

  • Felton was overheard telling officers, "You wanna see a crime? Look at the meat on this burger"

    • McDonalds beef is a crime for sure Coach. It's only good if you need a laxative. Notice I said beef and not meat with Tomb being in the house.
