Tickets Are Still Available for the Vikings Playoff Game

The Minnesota Vikings will play a home postseason game for the first time in five years this Sunday, and tickets are still readily available.

Minnesota is the NFC’s No. 3 seed and hosts the sixth-seeded New York Giants. New York finished the 2022 regular season with a 3-6-1 record in its final 10 games, but some national media personalities remain convinced that the Giants will score the upset.

And of Wednesday, you can still obtain tickets for the Vikings playoff game. Minnesota hasn’t won a postseason game since 2019, when it defeated New Orleans thanks to a walk-off Kyle Rudolph touchdown, so the stakes are high.

Whether it’s StubHub, NFL Ticket Exchange, Vivid Seats, Seat Geek, TickPick, etc., tickets are available for purchase. Per TickPick, a site that factors in fees to the listing price, the starting price for tickets is around $156. At that pricepoint, two fans could sit in Section 308, Row 20, for $312.

And the price to “get in the building” is around the middle of the pack for all six NFL playoff games this weekend. Here’s the approximate starting price for entry around the NFL this weekend per game:

  • Seahawks at 49ers = $94
  • Chargers at Jaguars = $120
  • Dolphins at Bills = $140
  • Giants at Vikings = $157
  • Ravens at Bengals = $225
  • Cowboys at Buccaneers = $226

The Vikings and Giants squared off at the same building on Christmas Eve, so Sunday’s game is a rematch. Minnesota was triumphant thanks to a 61-yard field goal by Greg Joseph to walk off New York. It was the longest field in Vikings history.

And during that game, Giants offensive lineman Nick Gates curiously observed [what he perceived as] the quiet nature of the crowd. He was asked about the atmosphere and crowd noise at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 16 and replied, “Surprised. Actually, I thought it would be a lot louder. I thought especially when our offense is out there they would be a lot louder out there. But you know, they’re Midwest people.”

Gates is from Nevada and apparently believes his time at the University of Nebraska grandfathers him into Midwest-related opinions. “They’re too nice. I can say it because I went to Nebraska. I went to Nebraska. I include myself in that one,” Gates added.

Therefore, if you plan on attending the playoff game Sunday, Gates’ musings should be a call to arms. The last playoff game for the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium was The Minneapolis Miracle, courtesy of Case Keenum and Stefon Diggs. “Midwest people,” as described by Gates, lost their minds.

Tickets in the lower level of U.S. Bank Stadium (100 level-seating) start around $300 apiece.

The Giants haven’t beaten the Vikings since 2013.
