Right now, the NFL is a chaotic place. To a certain extent, that’s to be expected as the league sorts through free agency. Safe to say, though, that the Maxx Crosby stunner is going to be talked about for a long time, especially with the Ravens just landing Trey Hendrickson (NFL Network crew).

A Vikings corner has been tracking things pretty closely, commenting online.

Cheeky and charming, CB2 Isaiah Rodgers comes across as a down-to-earth, funny person. Rodgers has allowed some of that personality to work its way into his social media activity over these past couple of days. He has been engaging with fans, offering quick quips on what’s taking place, and sending along images of Rob Brzezinski wearing a chef’s hat.

Signing Mr. Rodgers was a good decision.

Nobody thinks that he’s the second coming of Darrelle Revis. What he is, though, is a reasonably strong option alongside Byron Murphy Jr. (and recent add James Pierre). He has a pile of speed and an ability to make huge plays. Bringing him to town with a two-year contract for a touch beyond $11 million was a smart decision.

Football is a matchup sport. If the other side has a huge player capable of jumping through the roof, then being able to put an equivalent talent on the field makes life easier. Likewise, there’s great merit in having someone with elite speed to run with receivers who are track stars in shoulder pads. That’s where Rodgers comes in.

Last year, Rodgers played in all seventeen games while starting fifteen. The total snap tally came in at 963 on defense (90%) alongside 72 on special teams (16%). He offered the Vikings 66 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 4 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 touchdowns.

And, for whatever it’s worth, Isaiah Rodgers has been active online.

The 28-year-old corner has been all over Twitter, especially in recent days. Rodgers has north of forty-thousand followers, a reality he’s leaning into.

Things began in a fairly tame manner on Monday, March 9th, the day when legal tampering began. Rodgers shared news about re-signing some internal talent alongside a simple acknowledgement of the starter’s pistol sounding.

But then there was a funny photo with Rodgers — fully dressed in his Vikings uniform and equipment — working a cellphone as Brzezinski — fully dressed in a suit with a chef’s cap on his head — stirs a pot of food in the background.

Later on, other images got shared. He did make an effort to acknowledge he was just having a good time, explaining, “i know nothing btw.” But while he may not have insider insight, Rodgers did see the Maxx Crosby news before reacting like everyone else: “Dang free agency crazy lol.” And then a question about the aftermath: “So does all the Raiders signing fit within the cap now……… tomorrow will be interesting.”

(At the risk of missing the point, Albert Breer did confirm that the Raiders will fulfill their contract commitments).

Last year, Vikings corner Isaiah Rodgers had to work through the NFL’s free agency process. He landed a deal to become a Viking and then has settled in nicely within the Brian Flores defense. He looks like an extension candidate.

From the sidelines of free agency in March of 2026, Rodgers appears quite happy to stir the pot in a joking, lighthearted manner.
