The First Brian Flores Domino Falls

Basically anyone could connect the purple dots.
The Ravens, one of the great franchises in the NFL, just moved on from John Harbaugh. Opting for the defensive strategist from the purple NFC North team to takeover for the purple AFC North team makes sense. So, does Brian Flores become the next head coach of the Ravens?
He’ll get his shot to prove that he deserves it.
Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network offers the word. Consider the basic update: “The Ravens requested an interview with Vikings DC Brian Flores for their head coaching job, per source.” At the end of the day, all a football player can ask for is a chance. So, too, do coaches ask for the same: a fair chance. With an opportunity to interview, Coach Flores gets to prove he’s deserving of becoming a head coach yet again.
Vikings DC Brian Flores to Interview with Ravens
Presumably, there’s plenty of respect for Flores around the AFC.
He went to the Dolphins and made them competitive. No small feat. And while that opportunity ended poorly — which is to say nothing of the lawsuit from Coach Flores against the NFL — Flores has his supporters. He accomplished much with the New England Patriots, still the most impressive team of the 21st century (Kansas City has been chipping away at that status).
So, too, did Flores do some with work the Steelers, the foremost rival for the Ravens. Brian Flores then became a coach in Minnesota. He has done nothing but impress since getting to the Twin Cities.

In Baltimore, Brian Flores would be given plenty.
Lamar Jackson is a fantastic quarterback who is better than almost everyone else at the position. The 29-year-old passer is coming off a modest season but has a history of success. Mr. Jackson was won a pair of MVP awards while being a three-time first-team All Pro.
He is, in short, an elite player.
Consider, as well, that Zay Flowers is a talented young receiver functioning as the WR1. Derrick Henry is older but is still a very good running back. Mark Andrews can be a strong option at tight end and someone like Tyler Linderbaum, a center, is a great piece for an o-line.

On defense, the Ravens have a lot to offer Flores.
In particular, one thinks of Kyle Hamilton. He’s reminiscent of Harrison Smith since he’s a safety with great size who got snagged in the 1st after a strong career at Notre Dame. Maybe working alongside The Hitman will have equipped Flores to bring the best out of Hamilton, who is already an All Pro.
Baltimore’s defense also offers up DT Justin Madubuike, CB Nate Wiggins, S Malaki Starks, and LB Roquan Smith. Brian Flores would therefore be inheriting an unusual amount of talent for a team that just fired its head coach.
The Ravens are currently projected to have a touch below $21 million in cap space. The incoming coach would therefore walk into a team sitting in a good spot financially, meaning the chance to acquire some high-end talent in free agency is very plausible.

At 44, Brian Flores is in a great spot to takeover a team for the long haul. The coach has a lot of experience alongside plenty of runway to continue coaching well into the future.
Plus, he has connections around the NFL after putting in work in New England, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Minnesota. Would a move to Baltimore mean bringing some Minnesota coaches with him?
Don’t be at all surprised of the Vikings need to look toward a new defensive coordinator for 2026.
