3 Vikings Who Could Be on the Trade Block

The Minnesota Vikings should have a goal of getting younger this offseason while also working to save money against the salary cap.
With Minnesota’s cap situation, there could be multiple veteran players headed out the door this season either by cut or trade. Here are three Vikings players who could be on the trading block this spring.
OLB Jonathan Greenard

Jonathan Greenard has been one of the most productive players on Minnesota’s defense since joining the team in 2024. Over those two seasons, he has recorded 28 tackles for loss, including 15 sacks as well as six passes defended and five forced fumbles.
However, if the Vikings are truly going to learn what they have in Dallas Turner, who they selected in the first round of the 2024 draft, it’s time that he gets some real starting reps on Minnesota’s defense. Greenard is set to carry a cap hit of $22.15 million this spring, which is a number the Vikings may not be willing to pay with the depth they have at outside linebacker.
If the price is right, Minnesota certainly could consider trading Greenard this offseason. Perhaps that would also lead the team to selecting another young pass rusher in this spring’s draft.
WR Jordan Addison

Jordan Addison’s future with the Vikings has been a hot button topic of discussion for the past couple years.
Yes, Addison is a very talented player who certainly has lived up to the billing of a first-round pick that the Vikings used to add him to the team in 2023. However, some of his off the field shenanigans have taken away from that spotlight, and regardless, will the Vikings be willing to pay him enough to keep him around long term?
Addison will more than likely have his fifth-year option accepted by the Vikings this offseason, but that only keeps him in Minnesota through the 2027 season. If the Vikings were to trade him this offseason with multiple years of control for the team acquiring him, Minnesota could garner a pretty hefty package of draft capital.
TE T.J. Hockenson

T.J. Hockenson has been one of the staple pieces of Minnesota’s offense over the past few years since being acquired at the trade deadline during the 2022 campaign.
Since that time, Hockenson has caught 247 passes for 2341 yards and 11 touchdowns over 2.5 seasons with the Vikings. However, he has not been quite the same player since suffering the knee injury that ended his 2023 season and impacted his availability at the start of 2024.
Hockenson is carrying a $21.2 million cap hit in 2026, but the Vikings likely won’t be willing to pay that. A team in a better cap situation with a need at tight end could be willing to offer a package for the veteran.
