These 8 Vikings Joined New Teams This Week

NFL free agency exploded this week, and the Minnesota Vikings went full tilt during the process.
These 8 Vikings Joined New Teams This Week
Several new players joined the purple team. You can learn their identities here.
And these are the men who left for new teams โ players who were a part of the Vikings’ 2024 depth chart. They’re listed alphabetically.
1. Camryn Bynum (S)
Indianapolis Colts

At a four-year, $60 million price tag, Bynum chose the Colts this week, where he’ll start in Shane Steichen’s defense.
Indianapolis’ defense ranked 14th per EPA/Play last season, so Bynum landed in a pretty sweet spot. Minnesota will roll with Harrison Smith, Josh Metellus, and Theo Jackson, with backups Jay Ward and Bubba Bolden.
2. Sam Darnold (QB)
Seattle Seahawks

Seattle ponied up $100.5 million over three seasons for Darnold, and because the Vikings didn’t match that offer, they spent mucho dineron on newcomers Ryan Kelly (C), Will Fries (G), Jonathan Allen (DT), and Javon Hargrave (DT).
Darnold reunites with offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, whom he worked with in 2023 as a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
3. Ed Ingram (RG)
Houston Texans (Trade)

Somehow, Minnesota snatched a 6th-Round pick for Ingram’s services when most fans believed Ingram would be cut outright.
For draft capital, every little bit helps right now for the Vikings.
Ingram will likely battle veteran guard Laken Tomlinson this summer for a starter’s job in south Texas.
4. Daniel Jones (QB)
Indianapolis Colts

Jones inked a 14 million dollar deal for one season with the Colts. He’ll battle Anthony Richardson for the top job this summer.
The grand plan of Jones sliding into the QB2 job for the Vikings was incorrect after all. He’s a Colt.
5. Patrick Jones II (OLB)
Carolina Panthers

In the last few seasons, D.J. Wonnum, Luiji Vilain, and Patrick Jones II have all joined the Panthers after leaving the Vikings.
Carolina enjoys former Vikings’ EDGEs.
Jones secured a two-year deal worth $20 million.
6. Nick Mullens (QB)
Jacksonville Jaguars

Mullens will be one snap away from the bright lights of QB1 behind Trevor Lawrence, who succumbed to an injury in 2024.
Former Vikings assistant quarterback coach Grant Udinski now runs the Jaguars’ offense, and he evidently relishes Mullens’ QB2 upside.
Mullens spent three seasons in Minnesota. Time flies.
7. Johnny Mundt (TE)
Jacksonville Jaguars

Another three-year experiment in the Twin Cities, the purple team will need a new TE3 after Mundt followed Mullens and Udinski to Jacksonville.
Mundt caught 4 touchdowns in purple.
8. Trent Sherfield (WR)
Denver Broncos

The Broncos needed a special teams ace, so they stole the Vikings’ version.
Sherfield signed a two-year deal in Denver worth $6 million. Minnesota turned around and signed two special teamers to replace him: Tavierre Thomas and Eric Wilson.
