Week 10 NFL Standings: Vikings Creep Back into the NFC North Hunt

This weekend officially marked the halfway point of the NFL season.
After a somewhat boring weekend filled with blowouts in Week 8, Week 9 brought plenty of excitement, upsets, and down-to-the-wire finishes. Here is a look at where the NFL standings are at as we head into Week 10 and the second half of the regular season.
Week 10 NFL Standings

AFC East
- New England Patriots (7-2)
- Buffalo Bills (6-2)
- Miami Dolphins (2-7)
- New York Jets (1-7)
The AFC East stays right where it is for another week after the New England Patriots managed to escape their matchup against the Atlanta Falcons with a victory. It was a crucial win as the Buffalo Bills proved to be too much for the Kansas City Chiefs to handle as well, meaning we head into Week 10 with the Patriots still holding a narrow half-game lead in the division race.
AFC North
- Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3)
- Baltimore Ravens (3-5)
- Cincinnati Bengals (3-6)
- Cleveland Browns (2-6)
The Baltimore Ravens are slowly creeping up the AFC North standings after a win over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. However, the Pittsburgh Steelers ensured that they would keep a two-game lead at the top of the division with a win over the Indianapolis Colts.
AFC South
- Indianapolis Colts (7-2)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)
- Houston Texans (3-5)
- Tennessee Titans (1-8)
Well, the Colts are not invincible as it turns out. Indianapolis suffered its second loss of the season against Pittsburgh on Sunday. As a result, the AFC South race got a bit tighter at the top after the Jaguars also snatched an overtime win against the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend.
AFC West
- Denver Broncos (7-2)
- Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)
- Kansas City Chiefs (5-4)
- Las Vegas Raiders (2-6)
We’re halfway through the season, and if the playoffs were to start today, the Kansas City Chiefs would not be included following their loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon. It’s tough to really find a team that would be replaced by Kansas City at this point to, in no small part due to the terrific seasons being had by the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, who both won again this weekend.

NFC East
- Philadelphia Eagles (6-2)
- Dallas Cowboys (3-5-1)
- Washington Commanders (3-6)
- New York Giants (2-7)
The Philadelphia Eagles sat on their couches during their bye week this weekend, and even despite that, their lead in the NFC East grew as all of the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, and New York Giants lost this week. Now, the Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Green Bay Packers to try and make the gap even bigger.
NFC North
- Green Bay Packers (5-2-1)
- Detroit Lions (5-3)
- Chicago Bears (5-3)
- Minnesota Vikings (4-4)
Things are tightening up in the NFC North as the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers lost on Sunday. Detroit lost to the Minnesota Vikings at home while the Packers lost to the Carolina Panthers at home. Throwing another wrench into things, the Chicago Bears also found a way to escape Cincinnati with a win after almost blowing a big lead. The Vikings have games against the Bears and Packers later this month, so this race could get interesting in a hurry.

NFC South
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2)
- Carolina Panthers (5-4)
- Atlanta Falcons (3-5)
- New Orleans Saints (1-8)
Tampa Bay was another team on its bye this weekend, but they did not get the benefit of their division lead growing on Sunday. Instead, the Panthers got a stunning victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field to get their fifth win of the season. The Falcons were another team in this race for awhile, but they are now floundering after their third consecutive loss.
NFC West
- Los Angeles Rams (6-2)
- Seattle Seahawks (6-2)
- San Francisco 49ers (6-3)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-5)
The NFC West refuses to budge as all four teams in the division came away with victories this weekend. There were some dominant wins in the mix too as Seattle and Los Angeles each won by 24 points. The stalemate all changes this weekend though as the Rams play the 49ers and the Seahawks play the Cardinals.
