Vikings Injury Report at Seattle Is Bittersweet

In Week 12, the Minnesota Vikings featured their full-strength offensive line for the first time this season. The arrangement lasted a week. Minnesota will return to a familiar spot, with the OL fivesome not quite complete this weekend at the Seattle Seahawks.
The Vikings’ injury report for Seattle is bittersweet, featuring key returns alongside new setbacks as the team braces for a difficult matchup.
The team ruled out offensive guard Donovan Jackson on Friday, with players like LT Christian Darrisaw and OLB Jonathan Greenard pulling down Questionable designations.
Another Patchwork Vikings OL for Week 13
There’s always something askew with the 2025 Vikings due to injuries.

Who’s Out
Vikings.com‘s Craig Peters wrote Friday, “The Vikings on Friday ruled out quarterback J.J. McCarthy and guard Donovan Jackson for Sunday’s game at the Seahawks. McCarthy is in concussion protocol, and Jackson is dealing with an ankle injury last week at Green Bay. Minnesota (4-7) and Seattle (8-3) are scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. (CT) kickoff.”
Blake Brandel is expected to start in Jackson’s stead. Max Brosmer will earn his first NFL start with McCarthy in the league’s concussion protocol.
With McCarthy out, the 22-year-old is on deck to miss 23 of his first 28 eligible games in the pros.
The Questionables
Here’s where the fun — yes, that’s sarcasm — starts.
The following men are Questionable for Seahawks-Vikings:
- Christian Darrisaw (LT)
- Jonathan Greenard (OLB)
- Theo Jackson (S)
- Josh Metellus (S)
- Jalen Redmond (DT)
It’s a bittersweet setup because most of these players are expected to play at Seattle — but not without some weekend suspense.
Listed in order by position, these players would see more playing time if the group above didn’t play:
- Justin Skule (OT)
- Dallas Turner (OLB)
- Jay Ward (S)
- Tavierre Thomas (S)
- Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (DT)
Follow social media on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning for up-to-date clues on the Questionables.
Greenard Possibly Back
Greenard represents the best player on the Vikings’ defense, and he’s missed two games with a shoulder injury. Without him, the aforementioned Turner has performed quite well, but Greenard remains a more polished product.

For Minnesota to have a chance at taking down Seattle, a healthy Greenard feels damn near mandatory. It’s also worth noting that Turner notched an interception at Lumen Field last season when Sam Darnold’s Vikings defeated Geno Smith’s Seahawks.
Seahawks Injuries
Seahawks.com‘s John Boyle wrote Friday, “The Seahawks head into their Week 13 contest against the Vikings with a pretty clean injury report. Only one player on the 53-man roster has been ruled out, running back George Holani, who left last week’s game with a hamstring injury.”
“Also out is rookie defensive end Rylie Mills, who returned to practice this week after spending the season up to this point on the physically unable to perform list, the result of a torn ACL suffered late in his senior season at Notre Dame. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald had already said that Mills will need to build his way up to being game-ready, so it’s no surprise he won’t play.”
Seattle safety Ty Okada, who plays about 70% of all defensive snaps, is Questionable with an oblique injury.
Other Injury Report Perspective
Daily Norseman‘s Warren Ludford added late this week, “For the Vikings, J.J. McCarthy is out so Max Brosmer will get his first start, John Wolford will be the backup, and presumably Desmond Ridder will be the emergency third quarterback if he’s active for the game. Donovan Jackson being out means Blake Brandel will be up at left guard.”
“Christian Darrisaw being questionable means he may play, but for how long and how well? I suspect Jonathan Greenard will play given he was close last weekend and probably Theo Jackson as well. My guess is that Josh Metellus will try to play through some pain again this Sunday and Jalen Redmond too.”
Redmond is Minnesota’s top breakout story in 2025.

Ludford concluded, “Redmond’s injury apparently came in practice this week as he wasn’t initially on the injured list, which isn’t a good thing, but hopefully he’ll be able to go on Sunday. For the Seahawks, all their starters will be available on Sunday — only three backups with injury designations, above, so probably not real impactful either way if Okada plays or not.”
Ticket prices for the contest at Lumen Field start around $150.
