Reactions to Vikings Crushing Loss in Green Bay

It was brutal. The Minnesota Vikings didn’t just lose their Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers; they were humiliated. If there was any doubt the season was done as a competitive assignment for the Vikings, there isn’t any more.
Reactions are pouring in after the Vikings’ crushing loss in Green Bay, highlighting frustration, concern, and renewed questions about the team’s direction.
Here are some reactions to what was a bad day for Minnesota in Wisconsin.
It was another game where the Vikings’ offense just wasn’t good enough. Head coach Kevin O’Connell was visibly downbeat in his post-match press conference. There might be issues in other areas of the team, but he knows the lack of production from his offense is the major talking point right now. Minnesota never got close to scoring a touchdown, and six points off the boot of Will Reichard was all that was managed through four quarters of football.
Vikings Fall in Green Bay
Justin Jefferson, who had four catches for 48 receiving yards, had another quiet day by his standards and expressed his frustration at the team’s offensive struggles and, more importantly, the lack of any improvement.
Jefferson is level-headed, and the way he’s handled the team’s offensive problems this season is commendable. However, growing frustration from the Vikings’ star player is a worrying sign.

Ben Leber was scathing in his post-match analysis of the team’s mental collapse after the special-teams mistake in the third quarter. The game was close until the point Myles Price let a bouncing ball touch him, and Green Bay recovered the ball. From that point on, Minnesota fell apart. Leber’s analysis comes with expletives.
Former Vikings RB Robert Smith called the game tough to watch.
While former Vikings WR Jake Reed found time for a bit of humour, he was expressing his disappointment in what he was watching.
One of the few positives of the game was Reichard showcasing once again that Minnesota has found its long-term kicker. Reichard got some love from Pat McAfee.
The J.J. McCarthy Chatter
The pressure is mounting on JJ McCarthy, so it is no surprise to see media personalities start to ask questions about his future. Mike Florio posed the question after the game: “How long will the Vikings stick with McCarthy?” Suggesting it might be approaching time to try Max Brosmer at QB. With little to play for, gathering as much information as possible to make decisions at the position for next season should include reps for Brosmer, according to Florio.

Former Vikings QB Tommy Kramer has been a big supporter of McCarthy and has asked for patience with his development. He is also smart enough to know how the game works and expressed concern that the young Vikings QB may never get those reps, given how things are playing out.
With six games now under his belt, McCarthy has played enough for the stats to start meaning something, and the Vikings have a problem. There have to be signs of improvement in Seattle this week if McCarthy plays.
