Long-Time Former Viking Quietly Joined Titans

The Tennessee Titans are quite a popular NFL franchise at the moment — that’s how it goes when a team holds the first overall pick in the NFL draft, an event that transpires on Thursday night.
Long-Time Former Viking Quietly Joined Titans
But in lesser important news, the Titans made a handful of roster moves last week, depth maneuvers for a roster that will climb to 90 players next week. And one of the men who signed on Tennessee’s dotted line was former Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Oli Udoh.
Oli Udoh to the Titans
Udoh is a Titan, a depth addition to prepare for training camp in July.
TitanSized.com‘s Justin Melo wrote late last week: “The Tennessee Titans made four moves on the offensive line on Thursday. The highlight of their transactions was to release former third-round NFL Draft bust Nicholas Petit-Frere. Elsewhere, they added three veteran offensive linemen to the roster in Sam Mustipher, Brenden Jaimes, and Oli Udoh.”
“Udoh is the one departure from that strategy. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of small-school Elon. Udoh has exclusively played guard and tackle throughout his career, having never logged a single snap at center.”

Udoh is 28 and most recently played for the New Orleans Saints.
Melo added, “The Titans are now in the market for a swing tackle behind Dan Moore Jr. and JC Latham after releasing Petit-Frere. Udoh joins a cast of deep back-end roster players that includes Jaelyn Duncan and John Ojukwu. It remains to be seen where the Titans will primarily play Blake Hance, a versatile free-agent signing who previously played guard and tackle for offensive line coach Bill Callahan in Cleveland.”
The Titans also employ former Vikings safety Xavier Woods.
2025 Trajectory for the Titans
Udoh will battle for a roster spot this summer, hoping to make the 53-man cut in late August. It’s a crapshoot to determine if he has a puncher’s chance at the task, as the Titans will onboard a full draft class later this week.
But Udoh made the cut for the Saints last year. He could be in the driver’s seat for a reserve offensive tackle assignment.
Udoh’s Time in Minnesota and NFL Resume
Here’s Udoh’s career resume to date:
- Minnesota Vikings (2019–2023)
- New Orleans Saints (2024)
- Tennessee Titans (2025–present)
Udoh served as a backup tackle in Minnesota for the duration of his rookie contract. He played 43 games in purple clothes, while starting 18 when injuries affected other linemen. He even played guard in 2021 and 2022, but penalties ravaged his position switch.

In fact, Udoh was a starting guard for the Vikings in 2021 from cover to cover that season.
He was at his best as a backup lineman in the 2022 campaign when he notched a 74.7 Pro Football Focus grade on 189 snaps.
PurplePTSD‘s Josh Frey wrote about Udoh after he signed a deal with the Saints: “Udoh, a sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has been a depth offensive line piece for Minnesota throughout much of his career. He garnered plenty of criticism for his play as a starting right guard in 2021, and rightfully so.”
“However, he remains one of the more reliable backup offensive tackle options in the NFL. In 2022, he received a PFF grade of 74.7 for his 189 snaps on the offensive line, which is more than respectable. Considering the Saints have plenty of injury concerns at the tackle position between Trevor Penning and Ryan Ramcyzyk, this signing makes a lot of sense for New Orleans.”
Titans’ OL Depth
These are the Titan tackles before the draft:
- Dan Moore Jr.
- J.C. Latham
- Jaelyn Duncan
- Oli Udoh
- John Ojukwu
- Arlington Hambright
- Isaiah Prince

Tennessee will likely keep four or five of those players for the regular season roster, so Udoh’s chances depend on the Titans’ haul in the draft.
Titans Have No Draft Mysteries
In other Titans news, their draft pick on Thursday night isn’t very mysterious.
Titans’ brass confirmed this week that Miami quarterback Cam Ward will be the pick, solidifying at least one morsel of certainty in this year’s draft.

The rest is an utter crapshoot that could turn into an unpredictable circus in Green Bay.
