The P/PTSD Perspective: New QB2 in MIN’s Orbit, Bad News Trade, and Closing Door on FAs
PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.
The P/PTSD Perspective: March 22nd, 2025
1) New Name Enters Vikings’ QB2 Orbit: Mercifully, the Aaron Rodgers rumors have been put to bed (at least for now). A lot of attention has gone toward who could take over as the team’s main backup since J.J. McCarthy is operating with just Brett Rypien behind him.

2) Out of Nowhere Vikings Trade Hits as Bad News for Two Vikings: Snagging Jordan Mason — and then extending him for medium money — was a nice move from GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. The downside is simply that a pair of Minnesota runners now face a much tougher challenge when it comes to factoring into the plans for the offense.
3) Vikings Closed the Door on 3 Free Agents: Truth be told, I’m not entirely convinced that the door is closed on all three. If it is, then things are still unlocked. Won’t be shocking if one of those three players gets re-added to fortify the depth at some point.

4) Zimmer Era Corner Snags His Next Contract, Lands with 4th NFL Team: Good to see that he snagged his next opportunity. Being a late-round defensive back means that nothing is guaranteed in the NFL. Kris Boyd is far from the world’s best defensive back but he is a strong player on special teams and a willing tackler on defense.
5) Apparently, The Vikings’ Newest Playmaker Was Coveted By Multiple Teams: In a lot of ways, it’s not a surprise. The runner is very gifted, someone who can make an offense better. Good work from Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to fortify an area that went from a weakness to a strength.

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
