PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.

The P/PTSD Perspective: January 18th, 2025

1) First Team Says “No Thanks” to Brian Flores: The fit made a decent bit of sense for Flores, but New England opted to go in a different direction. The Vikings’ DC will now move ahead with the other options available to him. Maybe someone signs him, maybe he sticks around. Truly a wait and see.

2) As One Brian Flores Option Closes, Vikings May Consider Adding a Coach with a Patriots Connection: Kevin O’Connell and Jerod Mayo know each other from their time together as Patriots draft picks. Mayo is now unemployed after struggling as the head coach with the Patriots. Does he get a shot to help coach in Minnesota?

3) Two Essential Vikings Free Agents Poised for a Return: In the end, the likeliest scenario is one where Byron Murphy Jr. comes back while Camryn Bynum departs. Keeping both is possible, but it won’t come cheap. Minnesota needs a better secondary, so simply maintaining the status quo may not be the best approach. Something for Minnesota’s top decision makers to debate.

4) No More Excuses: 1 Vikings Position Group Needs an Overhaul: There are a handful of positions that appear to be in a good spot — edge rusher, linebacker, wide receiver, tight end, offensive tackle. There are other spots, though, that need some work. The GM will again have a busy offseason.

5) Vikings Could Get a Defensive Reinforcement for the Playoffs: In the end, the help didn’t come. Even still, there’s no excuse for the way that Minnesota played. The LA Rams were the better team, so they deserved the win.
